Barry, that conversation you've had with your co-writer is an important one. Dialogue = Conversation with a Purpose. Yes, it has to be entertaining, but it has to be grounded in how it advances the story. This is nowhere more true than an original TV pilot script where every single line has to justify its existence. No room for fluff.
