Glad you discovered the podcast, Mark. To your point about showing the Protagonist doing what they do best, it’s a good way to position the character in a good light with the audience. We admire people who are expert or at the very least competent at their jobs. And Pixar has an instinct to work with characters who have a *passion* for something, e.g., Remy with cuisine, Bob Parr as superhero, Lightning McQueen with car racing, etc, so they’re not only good at what they do, they revel in it, both admirable qualities.
