I think it all depends upon the writer. Some work hard at finding their voice. Others just write and let it happen. Then others chart a course in between.

As I say, there is no right way to write. Every writer is different. Every story is different. But certainly, a screenwriter will benefit by being cognizant of their voice and how it manifests itself on the page.
