I zeroed in on this side from Soon-ja
"Minari is truly the best. It grows anywhere, like weeds. So anyone can pick and eat it. Rich or poor, anyone can enjoy it and be healthy. Minari can be put in kimchi, put in stew, put in soup. It can be medicine if you are sick. Minari is wonderful, wonderful!"
Specifically: It grows anywhere. That seems to be an apt line about David's family, how despite the hardships they face, they prove to be able to "grow anywhere," even on their struggling Arkansas farm.
Then, of course, the line from Soon-ja to David, as noted previously: "Strong boy." Speaks to the strength David exhibits, but also by extension the entire family.
I'm watching the movie this weekend. I'm sure I'll have more thoughts at that time.
