Kristina, yes. And why would a reader care if they do not have some emotional resonance / connection / concern with/about the Protagonist?

So circling back to the original post, oftentimes we can raise the stakes of the story by digging deeper into our Protagonist’s psychological life, their initial state of Disunity, what dynamics are at work there necessitating the journey upon which they are about to embark?
