Laura, you've nailed the four primary plotline points. The story is a Heroine's Journey, isn't it? Dani leaving the Old World, when she goes to Sweden and joins the community, that is the New World. The increasingly bizarre cult activities deconstruct her old ways of being and compel her to confront her own personal trauma / shadow. Then the shocking ending in which she seemingly embraces her shadow. I need to watch the movie to be entirely clear about this.
