Not sure what to attribute the rise of science fiction to re spec script market and feature films in general. It’s such a cyclical thing. In 80s, Action and Comedy were the top 2. Then in 90s Thriller got hot. Comedy dominated for many years, then Drama had a run as #1 for about 4 years. We’ll see how things shake out over the next couple of years.

One thing I can predict: Once the WGA-ATA dispute is resolved and the four big agencies are back in official business with writers, we can expect to see a rise in spec script deals.
