That's true, Kathryn. There's no *rule* about not including specific song titles / lyrics in a script, however, development execs perceive it as a sign of amateur writer. Why? Because in reality, any song included in a movie or TV episode has to go through licensing process, handled by the studios and networks, and involving $$.

The safest thing to do is write:

Carla dances up and down the hallway to an upbeat Motown song.

Not a *specific* song, but suggest something in the vein of what you're imagining for the scene.
