Zach, that’s just not how it operates. It varies from manager to manager, but many of them are heavily involved working with writer-clients — especially newbies — in developing their stories, providing feedback on scripts. They do this in the hopes of advancing the career of their clients and for that they receive 10% of their clients’ writing-generated revenue. For an increasing number of writers, that is a fair trade.
